Reposted part three of our Reading. So You Don't Have To review. Changed the music for the credits, let's see if we get in trouble again! If so, we'll use a really really obscure song that no one knows, 'kay?

Will finish editing SNL convo on Saturday, hopefully. I started doing it on the plane but never got a chance to continue. For those of you who don't know, I'm currently living in Italy for five months and am moving into an actual apartment on Saturday (have been in the hotel with Mum for a week and she's leaving Saturday morning). I'm going to have time to kill between check out (noon, we think) and 6 PM when I can move into the new place. My plan, if I'm not being social which is a huge possibility since I have maybe two or three acquaintances and I'm horribly shy, is to chill in the hotel's lobby for hours with my laptop and free internet (maybe getting some drinks at the bar whilst I'm there) playing around with final cut and after effects.

So there's your BW update. I want to get a new BW out sometime this month if possible so keep on sending me stuff.

I also want to pimp out the new SBMB Vlog channel FiveMarfyBadgers! They are fabulous and you should definitely check them out!

Anyway, to bed since I get up hella early.

Ciao,
Adri

Despite it having been up for months, the last part of our 3 part Reading So You Don't Have To: Twilight Edition has had its audio disabled by YouTube. And because they are completely right in doing so I can't be really pissed. Still, now we have a video up that is soundless and I'm not sure what to do...We could replace the audio with something else that but we could end up in the same situation (no audio because we've used copywritten stuff). Pretty much I'm ranting because the song that's in question is during our credit sequence and it's so freakin' perfect that I don't want to replace it. There's nothing better to put in that place...we could cut it off early but I don't know if that would make a difference. Gah! Stupid laws.

Love,
A very frustrated Adri

Upcoming BW Projects

Because Peachers and I are awesome, we IMed throughout SNL last night and then decided we are going to make a video out of our conversation. Hopefully we'll get the footage done within the week so we can edit it together and then post it ASAP. It will make more sense if you have seen last night's SNL (with Neil Patrick Harris and his AWESOME!) but we'll try to include images of what the hell we're talking about for those who are all "WTF?!"

Another project, the Marry/Shag/Cliff video, is still being worked on. Footage is still being organized because I wasn't able to download some of it before the links stopped working. I know, lame! But still, it hasn't been forgotten. Just delayed. A lot. Sorry!! Think of it as categorized as a WIP at the moment.

Future endeavors, Melis mentioned something about doing The Watchmen, I believe? I haven't read it but I really want to. Any other thoughts?

Honoring the last year of this decade

T-t-TWO updates in ONE day?

I know! It's unbelievable!

Folks, we have officially reached day two of the new year. And if I do say so myself, 2009 is looking pretty terrific. So I thought I'd talk about new years resolutions.

To be quite frank, I never saw the big deal about new years before. Never made a big deal about NYE, never batted an eyelash when it turned midnight. But I was pretty excited about the arrival of 2009. Because in many ways, 2008 sucked for me. There was way too much heart break and stress for my liking, so I developed high hopes about the new year.

Thus, my resolution, if it even counts as one, is to do everything in my power to make the year 2009 as awesome as possible. I'm not exactly sure what that will entail, but I WILL make it happen.

So, this leads to my question:
What are YOUR resolutions?
Come on people! Sharing is caring!

Until next time,
-Eileen

Holiday Traditions

Happy Christmas to my goyim out there! While you've been having family dinners and whatnot I've been having a fabulous fourth night of Chanukah. We went to Chinatown for dinner in order to fulfill Jewish stereotypes and man was it good! Sadly, we did not see a film (another part of said stereotype for the uninformed). I did, however, just watch about three hours of Ghost Hunters on SciFi and began contemplating whether I thought it was all BS or if it had an iota of truth to it. Still not sure where I fall.

Tomorrow (well, today...it is 2 AM afterall) we're having a Jew party where we will be making koeksisters, which rock. Ours look better than the ones pictured on that website, fyi. It's part of our family's Chanukah tradition. Every year we get a ton of people to come over and we put them to work braiding dough we've already made and then Mum puts them in the boiling oil and fries 'em. Since the oil is dangerous only Mummy is allowed to do it because she's a grown up. I do the syrup. Our syrup is made up of a shitton of sugar, some honey and some ginger and water. Syrup, of course, is the most important part of the process. You need to make sure that the entire koeksister is covered head to toe in syrup and you leave it in the pot for a bit to let it absorb the syrup. There's always that period of time when the koeksisters are being made faster than I can get them in and out of the syrup so there's a backup and I stay in the kitchen longer, playing catch up. It's a very fun time and a wonderful party!

You may ask me, "why do you guys make koeksiters? Obviously I have read the wikipedia article you have linked to and know what they are now, but it says they have a South African origin and if I've paid attention to your previous posts on the board, aren't you from the US?" To this I would reply, "Why yes, kind friend, I am a US citizen. But my mother is originally from South Africa. She brought/found the recipe and we've been making them for Channukah ever since I can remember." You might then ask, "Why for Chanukah specifically?" And I would explain, "Because one of the traditions for Chanukah is to eat food that is cooked in oil. It has to do with how long the oil in the Temple lasted."

So Happy Christmas/Chanukah/Saturnalia/Festivus/Kwanzaa/Unbirthday/Whatnot!!!

Adri

POSTING PARTY

I felt we should keep up this posting frenzy because as of yesterday at 4 PM I am also done with school! Sadly, typing is not very fun. I may or may not have cut the very tip of my middle finger on my left hand off in an X-acto blade related accident a few days ago. Luckily I didn't bleed on my project so I could still use it in survey! Yay! I would post pictures but I sort of kind of forgot to take photos of my wall. Mum did so maybe I'll be a show off later. I will, however, be posting my final project on my personal youtube soon and favorite-ing it on BW's youtube so you guys can see the epicness. As a teaser, let me tell you that it involves a sword fight and AWESOME. One reaction to it was "OMG ADRI THAT WAS EPIC" to which I asked "Did you watch it with the music?" and he replied "THERE WAS SOUND??!!!" Oh, good times.

Anyhoodle, I really liked Melis's post where she replied to some of our comments. We do have this unspoken thing where we don't reply directly to comments using our Badgerstaffwhenevs account because there are so many of us participating and only one of us has the account password. Speaking of, if you guys want the ability to post stuff on our youtube, email me and we'll figure something out. But I digress. We do read what you write and really appreciate the feedback.

Even though I'm pretty sure that very few, if any, of our youtube watchers know about this blog let alone follow it, I figured I'd ask them a question.

What do you guys want to see on our youtube? More reviews? Shorts? If you want more reviews, do you want us to continue to piss off Twilight fans everywhere and do the rest of the series (if so, do you care about our sanity?) or move onto other books/movies? If the latter, what books/movies do you think we should check out?
Thanks!

So that's it for now. Adri's gotta get to Union Square in a half hour and the trains take for f-ing ever. Ciao!
